SUMMARY:4th Annual Hackathon Maker Faire Detroit
DESCRIPTION:4th Annual Hackathon Maker Faire Detroit\nMaker Faire® Detroit\, at The Henry Ford\, gathers 10\,000 STEAM (science\, technology\, engineering\, arts\, and math.) curious visitor from around the United States. For the 4th year in a row inside the Faire\, kids gather to participate at the Hackathon with AccelerateKID. On Saturday\, July 28\, we’ll have 50 Detroit kids participating in the Maker Faire® Detroit hackathon to learn about computer science and game development using Javascript programming language. It’s an all-day event for kids to explore coding and the innovative activities at the Faire. \nKids that learn computer science develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Many schools are integrating STEAM workshops to teach students how fun can be to program a robot or program an app that solves problems in their communities. During the hackathon\, kids will develop an innovative app that will be presented to judges for prizes at the end of the day. They will work in teams and attend educational workshops in a fun and educational environment. The event is free for the kids.
