For the 4th year in a row AccelerateKID® organizes the Maker Faire® Detroit 2018 hackathon. Last Saturday, July 28 thirty Detroit inner city kids had the opportunity to learn about computer science and game development using Javascript programming language. It’s was an all-day event for these kids to explore coding and the innovative activities at the Faire.

Working as a team they learn about computer science, designing principal, develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. During the hackathon, participants develop an innovative app that was presented to judges: Kolton Kazakos, from Emagine Entertainment and Kaitlin Scharra program manager at the Henry Ford Museum. Each participant got a free ticket for the Maker Faire and goodies.
